WHAT IS FDM PRINTING?

FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) is a filament based additive technology.
FDM printers are equipped with a moving print head.
At the end of the print head is the nozzle (or nozzles) that melt and extrude filament material and deposit an object layer-by-layer according to a special CODE file derived from a customers 3-D CAD model.

3D Printing Technology

Fused Deposition Modeling is one of the most popular 3D printing technologies. It is an excellent option for prototyping and the series production of functional parts. It is an affordable 3D printing solution.

Materials and Supplies

We use 3D-Fuel branded filament in Our Process and also We are an authorized re-seller of 3D-Fuel Filament . Click below for Pricing and on-line ordering with us.

WHY CHOOSE FDM?

The primary benefit of FDM type printing is the ability to test a part design before transitioning to the production process. Having a functional prototype part not only reduces time to market, but maximizes the overall product performance. The second benefit is a lower production run using FDM Technology.

Spirol Press-In Inserts

We can add metal threaded inserts (Spirol brand) to simulate insert molded by conventional injection molding

Various types of filaments and colors available.

Threads and tolerances

Our manufacturing partners adhere to industry standards for threads and tolerances.

Finishing & post-processing

Our manufacturing partners follow our strict technical requirements for finishing and post-processing.

Applications of 3D printing

The 3D printing process offers a range of industrial applications:

Medical end use

The customizability of 3D printed parts lends them to a range of medical applications, while 3D printed parts produced from biocompatible materials can significantly reduce the development time of a variety of medical devices and instruments.

Small pieces

3D printing is ideal for producing small parts in low volumes, with cost advantages over other traditional manufacturing processes with increased production.

Low volume production

With no capital costs for tooling and no minimum order quantities, 3D printing processes are well suited for production in low hundreds or thousands.

Custom parts

3D printed designs can be customized quickly and on a very small scale for functionality and aesthetics. For example, corporate customers may make individual parts with textures, logos or serial numbers.

HOW DOES A FDM (FUSED DEPOSITION MODELING) 3-D PRINTER WORK?

The process begins when a computer aided design (CAD) model is made. The CAD model is then imported into software that makes a CODE file. The CODE file acts as a set of instructions or as the “blue print” for the CNC controlled printer machine. The customer is required to down load a 3-D CAD model of the part they wish to have manufactured.

3D Printing Technology (FDM Service)

MATERIALS USED IN OUR 3-D FDM PRINTING SERVICE

FDM (fused deposition modeling) is the most common 3-D printing technology that offers good quality and a variety of materials, many of which are certified for regulated industries. FDM offers a fair quality finish and dimensional accuracy as well.
This process uses a filament that typically comes wound on a 1-kilogram spool and has a diameter of 1.75mm typically. Remember that this process uses the same types of raw materials as in the thermoplastic injection molding process. We Use and Carry in Stock Various Colors of 3-D FUEL Branded Filament For The Best Possible Quality- Made in USA
